Nakesha Woods
Nakesha Woods and her sister Natrina Groce work to be an inspiration, both to each other and to the young women they mentor in their program
Sisters Inspiring Sisters (SIS). Woods worked for 10 years in the field of social work before her younger sister Groce approached her about re-launching SIS, a program Woods had originally envisioned immediately after graduating from Wayne State University in 2001. SIS works with female high school students in the city of Detroit, offering them mentoring sessions in key life skill areas from relationships and domestic violence to college preparation and conflict resolution.
